The tepid waters of the breaking waves kiss my toes, making me wiggle them in pleasure as the salty breeze toss my hair up and over my face. I close my eyes and take a deep breathe of the humid air causing moisture to build in my nose. A seagull looms over me, scanning for a quick meal. Another breaking wave washes over my feet as I start to walk along the shoreline. The sun is glimmering on its descent against the horizon. Gooseflesh run across my bare arms and legs. A set of pelicans soar above the waves being born not too far from shore. One takes a nose dive into the sea, a plume of water cascading upwards. Bursting through the surface it bobbles, tossing its head back with a catch squirming in its gullet.
In the distance, I see the resort that I’m staying in, its ambient lights welcome me back from a long day of sunbathing, reading and swimming by the sea. The wind gets stronger as it rattles my sarong against my body; I quicken my pace desiring the warmth of my room. My stomach gurgles its need for food as I begin my ascent of the stairs set next to the infinity pool. I pass the tropical bar with a few guests mingling with fruity drinks in hand. With a swoosh, the doors open and I’m hugged by the frigid air conditioning; more gooseflesh race along my skin. Fumbling in my mini backpack, I pull out the key card just as I reach my room. A tap and a blink of the green light, encourages me to push on the handle and enter. The room has been returned to its original appearance, the bed was made with its terry clothed crane perched upon it; the curtains are opened showcasing the view of the ocean and the kitchenette has the scent of a citrusy cleaning agent. Grabbing the menu off the small table near the kitchenette I scan over the entree list.
